Coral reefs are sometimes referred to as "the rainforests of the sea" and form some of the most diverse ecosystems on earth. They provide a home for 25% of all known and unknown marine species on the planet. However, coral reefs are fragile ecosystems and are under threat from various external facors, including climate change, cyanide fishing and coastal construction.
